The Japan Sapporo Mission covers the entire island of Hokkaido - the northern most island in Japan. The mission headquarters is located in the city of Sapporo. WIth a population close to 2 million people, Sapporo is the 5th largest city in Japan. Sapporo has three Stakes, one District with 27 wards and branches. The climate in Hokkaido is very similar to Park City, Utah. There are four distinct seasons with significant snow fall in the Winters, cherry blossoms in the Spring, beautiful summers that avoid Japan's typical rainy season, and colorful Falls. The size of Hokkaido is approximately the same size as the state of Indiana. The missionaries who serve in Hokkaido are lovingly referred to as the "Frozen Chosen"
The Japan Sapporo Mission currently has 81 missionaries. Out of the seven missions in Japan, Sapporo has the highest percentage of Japanese missionaries - approximately 50%.
20 Sisters: 17 from Japan, 2 from the US and 1 from Mongolia.
59 Elders: 22 from Japan, 33 from the US, 1 each from the Philippines, Korea, New Zealand, Canada

Lee and Terry Daniels
Lee A. Daniels and Terry L. Daniels served in the Japan Sapporo Mission from 2008-2011. We currently reside in Mapleton, Utah. Lee is an associate professor at BYU and teaches International Business and International Marketing. Terry was just called to serve in the YW organization in the Mapleton 5th Ward.
